New Partnership Geared to Help Children in Need

The Tyson Fresh Meats plant in Finney County, Kansas  has partnered with Strengthening Kansas Families to support the Center for Children and Familes and the Commmunity Health Coalition.

"St. Catherine Hospital was instrumental in the founding of the Community Health Coalition," said Scott Taylor, President & CEO of St. Catherine Hospital.  "We continue to be involved and supportive of the Coalition and we provide the office space for the Center for Children & Families.  We are very pleased that Tyson has taken such an active role in this endeavor."

Tyson Foods took an active role in supporting the new organization by donating funds to provide 10,000 high-quality 2010 calendars titled Tyson Cares--Strengthening Families through Positive Parenting for Finney County.

The calendar is bilingual, both English and Spanish are presented, and highlights agencies that support children and families, parenting tips, and community events for Finney County each month of the year.

Paul Karkiainen, plant manager for the Finney County Complex and Daniel Hoggard, HR manager, worked on the planning, cooridnation and funding of this project.
